藝術治療 Arts Therapy

表達藝術治療(Expressive Arts Therapy),也稱作藝術治療(Arts Therapy),是藝術創作與心理治療的結合,讓藝術創作成為心靈療癒的媒介。表達藝術治療是跨模式的藝術表達(Multimodal),包括音樂、繪畫、舞蹈、戲劇、寫作、遊戲等,有助探索及表達自我,抒發情緒,改善人際關係、發展人格等。表達藝術治療提供一個充滿創意及沒壓力的環境,藉藝術創作過程讓參予者的潛意識和內心的世界,能自由地流露。

Expressive arts therapy (Arts therapy) is a multimodal approach to explore one’s selfhood and help one express oneself. It is an effective, fun and surprising intervention therapy in which the therapist uses movement, visual arts, music and sound, writing, drama and improvisation as media to communicate with his or her clients. The therapy offers a safe, reliable and supportive environment which allows the participants to develop their selfhood, heal and grow. The use of creative arts can help one understand one’s body, emotion and thoughts, which can in turn improve the quality of life. The therapist can use more than one arts medium, according to the needs of different clients, to help them express themselves (Knill, Barba & Fuchs, 1995; McNiff, 1981; Rogers, 1993).

表達藝術治療(藝術治療)常用於身心障礙的治療或教育輔導,覆蓋廣泛介別和年齡層。對於輔導特殊兒童的情緒困擾、 肢體弱能、智障、學習遲緩、學習障礙、及社交技能等問題尤為顯著。

Expressive Arts Therapy (Arts Therapy) is commonly used in the treatment of physical and mental disabilities as well as education counselling. It can be applied to people with various backgrounds and of different ages. It is particularly useful for SEN children suffering from emotional problems, children with physical weakness, mentally retarded children, children with learning problem or disabilities and children with poor social skills.
